Privacy policy
Last updated: 28 May 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Social Works ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses information when you visit our website. We've kept it short, because our setup is simple.
Who we are
Social Works is a marketing agency based in Denmark. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, you can reach us at info@social-works.com.
For GDPR purposes, Social Works is the data controller for any personal data collected through this website.
What we collect, and why
Website analytics
Our website is built on Squarespace, and we use Squarespace's built-in analytics to understand how visitors use the site - which pages get read, where traffic comes from, and how people move through the site. This helps us improve what we publish.
Squarespace Analytics collects information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring website, and the pages you visit. This data is processed by Squarespace on our behalf. You can read more about how Squarespace handles this data in their Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or any other third-party tracking pixels on this site.
Information you give us directly
If you contact us through a form on the site, by email, or through any of the channels listed on the site, we'll receive whatever you choose to send us - typically your name, email address, company, and the content of your message. We use that information to reply to you and, if it leads somewhere, to discuss potential work together.
Cookies
Squarespace sets a small number of cookies to make the site work and to power its analytics. These include essential cookies (needed for the site to function) and analytics cookies (used by Squarespace Analytics).
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or remove cookies at any time. Doing so may affect how the site works.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
Under the GDPR, we process your data on the following bases:
Legitimate interest - for basic website analytics that help us understand and improve our site, in a way that doesn't materially affect your privacy.
Consent - where required, for any non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time through your browser or cookie settings.
Contract / pre-contract - when you reach out to us about working together, we process your contact details to respond and explore that possibility.
Who has access to your data
Your data is handled by Social Works and by Squarespace, our website platform. Squarespace acts as a data processor on our behalf and is contractually bound to handle data in line with GDPR.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party marketing platforms.
How long we keep your data
Analytics data is retained according to Squarespace's standard retention periods - see their privacy documentation for the current details.
Emails and messages you send us are kept for as long as we have an active or potential working relationship, and deleted when that's no longer the case.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Have inaccurate data corrected
Have your data deleted ("right to be forgotten")
Restrict or object to how we process your data
Receive your data in a portable format
Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis for processing
Lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) at datatilsynet.dk
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [contact email] and we'll get back to you.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data - for example, if we add a new analytics tool or tracking pixel - we'll update this policy and change the date at the top. For material changes, we'll make it clear on the site.
